How do YOU define success?
Everyone in the world is always looking to achieve that elusive work / life balance? How to balance the competing forces of wanting to be there and present with your family and the desire for a successful career. Do you feel guilty when you leave work to be there for a family event? Do you feel guilty when you are at work and missing a family event? If so, you are not alone. This is far more common than you think.
Today, we are really greatly honoured to be joined by Rusty Gaillard. Rusty is the founder of Silicon Valley Dream Builders.
He is the former worldwide head of finance for Apple, and has broken away from that career, to follow his dream to become a speaker, and a coach, and a best selling author of a book called Breaking the Code.
Rusty is the host of a live streaming show called Fork in the Road, which is also very much synonymous with the discussion that we're going to have today about people and leaders that have followed very successful, or outwardly successful careers, but potentially have not achieved fulfillment and joy in the pursuit of that career.
Rusty has been through his own journey striving for balance. He has been through the entire rollercoaster ride. As a high performer he was enjoying a very successful career, but at the expense of his home life. Then he backed off, took a demotion, put his family first and subsequently lost his fulfilment in the workplace.
After a lot of soul searching and work on himself he was finally able to break the code. He found that elusive balance. He now commits his life to helping other high performers accelerate through this journey.
