One of the latest groups of Oregonians to become eligible for COVID-19 vaccination is people experiencing homelessness. Health officials and service providers are working together to make sure unhoused people have access to vaccines, after an especially isolating pandemic year for this vulnerable community. In Multnomah County, some older unhoused adults already benefited from vaccine clinics like the ones held weeks ago at the county’s physical distancing shelters. Eboni Brown is the shelter coordinator for Do Good Multnomah, which runs three of the motel shelters. We hear from her about vaccine efforts and how the pandemic has affected the homeless community.
