On Monday, it was announced that OC Transpo would be reducing its midday O-Train service, effective this Fall. Just before Labour Day, Line 1 would be running every 10 minutes on weekdays between 9am and 3pm. Peak periods, of course, remain the typical 5-minute target. However, a handful of councillors feel blindsided by these changes, and are worried that post-secondary students won’t trust our transit system as often. We dig deeper in Hour 1. According to Somerset councillor Ariel Troster, when the City of Ottawa amped up police presence in the ByWard Market this Summer, it pushed more of Ottawa’s vulnerable residents into Centretown.
