A parliamentary committee is gathering today and tomorrow as it tries to unravel an incident involving members of Team Canada’s 2018 World Junior Team. Eight unidentified members of the Men’s squad were allegedly involved in a group sexual assault after a gala in London, Ontario. However, not all of the committee’s questions might be answered due to solicitor-client privileges. Evan Solomon speaks to Greg Gilhooly, a current lawyer and former hockey player who is also a survivor of sexual assault. In Hour 2, we turn our attention to Canadian politics, as former Prime Minister Stephen Harper throws his vote of confidence towards Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre. The final decision won’t be made until September 10, but is the Tories’ leadership race officially over? And finally, a teenager from the University of Calgary’s Swim Club is making waves after snapping a national record that was once held by Olympic legend Penny Oleksiak.
