One of values that City Life Church holds is "Radical Generosity." Join us for a message from Pastor Leah on this value and around how your giving impacts people and ministries far beyond what we can see.
Why does God care about my sex life? In a culture like ours that values individual expression, that’s a good question. Why should God care what I choose to do with my own body? And even if He does care, why should I care? We are living through an unprecedented sexual revolution today. But how can we be sure it’s leading us where we want to go? Join us for this raw, honest series as we explore the sexual ethics of Jesus. We’re all thinking about it. So let’s talk about it.

God cares about your mental health. He wants you to be spiritually, physically, and mentally healthy. Whether you are facing anxiety, mental health, worry, depression, or something else entirely, God wants you to know that you aren’t alone. So let’s all take a deep breath together on three. One… two… three. And let’s start to breathe.

What should our relationship to our culture be? Christianity has culture, our country has a culture, our families have cultures - but what if we removed those cultural barriers to make space for accessibility to others? Culture is something that ebbs and flows, but our identity in Christ transcends all of that. Lean into your convictions and character - it could transform culture itself.
What if there was a new way to be human? A new way to live in this world that actually represents the ultimate reality we were created for? When we show up for Jesus together, united as an unbreakable family - that is POWERFUL! Now, Unity doesn’t mean uniformity. We are all created as unique and beautiful humans, and sometimes we have different opinions or points of view. Is that okay? It is! But how we speak and interact with one another is the important part. Pastor Brad shares with us how we can walk humbly together through differences and disagreements - still representing the heart and character of Jesus.
Wherever you are right now, God is with you and He wants your attention and devotion. It's so easy to put all the focus on our relationship status, our current situations, our responsibilities - but what if instead of making those things our priority and figuring out how God can work in them, we make God our priority and figure out how our relationship status can be a tool for undivided devotion to Him. Your identity is in Christ alone.
What is the secret to contentment? What do we do with that tension between what we hope for and what is reality? Maybe we just need to remain. What does that even mean, to remain? Pastor Leah shares with us the power of remaining in God's calling and purpose for our lives, wherever that may take us.
From movies to books to society, there are some unrealistic expectations for what relationships should look like. Pastor Brad shares with us the importance of singleness, marriage, and relationships and how powerful the standards that God has placed on all of these scenarios are.
Pastor Bill Leach shares with us the importance of all kinds of relationships, specifically friendships. God created us for communion with Him and one another. We need a few trusted people that have permission to tell us the truth about our hearts and blind spots that we might miss. We need someone to remind us of our deepest aspirations and to warn us when we are getting off track. One opportunity we have at City Life to put this into practice is through Life Groups. They provide an environment where we can be known, loved, and challenged.
City Life has a long-term vision to adopt an underdog generation into the City Life family and raise them to be emotionally and spiritually healthy leaders of families and churches. What is an underdog generation? Simply put, it’s the younger generation in our city that has enormous potential, yet the odds are stacked against them. It’s not statistics and trends on our minds though, it’s the faces of kids who run and play on the blocks where we live, are growing up in our city, in our church. These are kids and students with unlimited potential that may have significant challenges ahead of them.
We move toward reaching people, not only here in Philly, but all over the world. Sometimes it takes sacrifice but it also has great significance and impact. City Life will be supporting Paul and Crystal Burkhart by helping to fund a boat so they can access unreached, remote villages in Alaska. If you would like to learn more about how you can help with this project and others, head on over to our 2022 Kingdom Builders site: https://www.citylifephilly.com/kingdom-builders
Maybe you’re thinking, “I don’t have time for prayer." Well, prayer is definitely a lifestyle, and it’s a lifestyle worth having! We need God in every aspect of our life, and that means spending time with Him through prayer! So through this message, let’s learn some practical ways to pray and strengthen our relationship with God.
Stressed out? We get it. The holiday season is filled with joy but can also be filled with lots and lots of stress. From finding the right gifts to spending time with family - stress can feel impossible to escape. But there is peace this Christmas season. The entire Christmas story is filled with hope! It’s true that Jesus is the reason for the season, and with that comes peace, hope, and so much joy.
Are you feeling tired and hopeless? Maybe there is just a heaviness about life that you’re carrying around. We want to encourage you to cross the finish line of 2021 with a feeling of optimism and hope. When you want to lift your spirits higher, lift your eyes to God! Your focus matters and if you focus on Jesus by looking up, things will start to look up too!
It's difficult to see the future through the lens of pain. Has this last year taken a beating on you financially, relationally, maybe even spiritually? Are you suffering today? God knows exactly how you're feeling. In today's message we are going to find out that through our pain, we can become more resilient, discover healing, and find hope in the fact that God isn't done with us yet!
What is Salvation? Today Pastor Brad will be speaking about what is means to put our faith in Jesus - How we are changed and what it looks like to have God work in our lives. Becoming more like Jesus can feel like a lot of work, but it’s a continuous process and God adopts us into an amazing, supportive family. YOU are chosen by Jesus and He wants redemption, forgiveness, and grace for you. Maybe after listening to this message you’re ready to take that next step to salvation. If that’s the case, we are celebrating with you! (If we could throw virtual confetti, we would!) Please let us know if that’s a step you took today. We would love to provide you with next steps and helpful resources. https://connectcard.church/33S9UM47UXG2sIbEJGsI
What happens when we die? Are Heaven and Hell real? What is eternity? Sometimes these questions can raise even more questions - sometimes cause fear or anxiousness. Today we are talking about the truth of eternity. Now, we aren’t here to scare you into salvation. That would be a terrible motivator for a relationship with Jesus. It is however something that needs to be wrestled with to truly understand the depths of God’s grace and love. And if after this, you have more questions - that’s okay! Ask them. Our team is always available to receive you.
Who is God? It’s possible you grew up knowing different versions of God - Guilt God, Bodyguard God, On-demand God. But God's character is much bigger (and better) than all of that! In this message, we want to teach you what is probably the most important doctrine we have as believers, and that is “The Doctrine of God. Not because He is a concept to be understood, but because He is a loving God to be worshipped!
We will discover God’s purpose for us at work, and how to get the stress out in our 9-5 jobs.
We will discover God’s timeless blueprint for reclaiming margin and experiencing peace in our personal finances.
We will discover timeless, biblical principles to turning down the drama and getting the stress out of our relationships.
It’s okay to be human! By embracing our humanity, and accepting the gift of limits, we can finally rest in who God created us to be, and worship Him for who He alone can be.
