Elizna Erasmus Biosecurity Specialist and Animal Scientist spoke to the importance of biosecurity in South Africa to ensure that the agricultural industry does not further suffer due to the coronavirus induced lockdown and the upcoming winter season. Elizna explained, Zoonotic diseases and how the rise of pandemics stemming from animals has adversely affected the livestock industry. Elizna told pet owners what they can do to ensure the safety of the beloved pets and how community members can assist in reporting the abuse of animals to local authorities.
