With more than 60 percent of its people living in rural areas, Africa’s economy is dependent mainly on agriculture.

Though there are challenges of climate change, soil degradation and large post-harvest losses, African agriculture has had to go through drastic changes in policy development at continental, regional and country level.

Grow Africa is one example of an organization established to address the policy gaps that have existed in the continent in-order ‘to increase responsible private sector investment in agriculture, and accelerate the execution and impact of investment commitments on smallholder farmers’.
