Dog attacks are becoming frequent in South Africa. This week, a three-year-old boy in Pietermaritzburg died in hospital after being mauled by a pitbull. Paramedics present at the scene say the child was bitten in the neck, shoulders and hip area. Meanwhile, a new judgement from the Supreme Court of Appeal has found liable the owner of three pitbull -type dogs that attacked and ripped off a man's arm in Port Elizabeth in 2017,and will have to pay R2.4 million in damages.
