South African President Jacob Zuma says SADC needs to establish a regional parliament to allow for people's participation in tackling challenges facing the region. He was addressing officials from the region on the eve of the 37th SADC Parliamentary Forum in Durban. Instability in Lesotho, DRC and Madagascar is among the challenges that SADC has had to deal with. Parliamentarians from the 14 member states will deliberate on the proposal to transform the forum to a legislative body and economic integration, among other things. The Forum is a platform for parliamentarians from the SADC region to voice their views on regional issues and to promote integration
