SAfm — Wits University students are currently marching to the chamber of mines in Johannesburg where they'll hand over a memorandum demanding support for their call for free education. The University has been shut down for over a week now following protests by students demanding free education. Meanwhile the University of Limpopo in Mankweng outside Polokwane has suspended academic activities indefinitely. In a statement, campus management have instructed all students to vacate campus by five o Clock this afternoon. Varsity management says this is to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and university property. Grahamstown police in the Eastern Cape have arrested ten Rhodes University students for allegedly vandalising police property and blockaded roads. Five of them were arrested for violating a court interdict from the university against them.
