Could some people in the creative and cultural sector miss out on the funds set aside by government to help them, simply because they don't have internet access? This is the opinion of some, who say the application process that was set up to help those who needed it the most, was flawed from the beginning. Last month, Minister Nathi Mthethwa announced a 150 million rand relief fund to help ease the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the livelihood of those in the sporting and cultural sectors. The department emphasized that the fund was set up to assist all athletes and arts practitioners, based on a set of criteria defined for each of the two sectors.
