Police Minister, Bheki Cele has come under fire after his suggestion that only institutions should own firearms and not individuals. Cele made the remarks in Linden, Johannesburg on Tuesday saying he wants to make it illegal for individuals to own guns. The Amended Firearms Control Act is currently under review and among others, proposes that only the security industry should be issued with gun licenses.
