Youth unemployment, access to housing, electricity and running water are some of the issues that some residents of the Metsimaholo local municipality in the Free State continue to face on a daily basis. And whichever political party wins after tomorrow's by-elections will have to grapple with the task of ensuring that such challenges are addressed. Metsimaholo is home to Sasolburg, Oranjeville, Kragbron and Deneysville. On Wednesday over 80-thousand voters are expected to cast their ballots in a by-elections after the Metsimaholo council led by a coalition was dissolved in July after it failed to pass a budget. Peal Magubane visited the area and filed this report.
