The number of breast cancer patients who default on their treatment has dropped by 70 percent at the Breast Health Foundation in Helen Joseph Hospital over the past two years. They now have access to high level of care following financial contributions from fashion designer and businesswoman Carolina Herrera. Herrera has committed five million rand over a five year period since 2013 to care for breast cancer patients at the hospital. The Foundation sees up to 700 breast cancer patients per month.
