At least five people were killed in sporadic protests in Chad against the junta that took power after the death of President Idriss Déby-Itno a week ago.
Derby’s killing has left his son in charge, the first change of power in more than three decades for the central African nation.
In a televised speech following the protests, the late President's son, 37-year-old Mahamat Idriss-Deby, who heads the transitional Military Council, promised to organise "an inclusive national dialogue" within an 18-month transition period.
