The global pharmaceutical company, MSD, has entered into non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreements with two leading generic manufacturers to expand patient access to doravirine, a medication used to treat HIV. According to the joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS, 38-million people were living with HIV worldwide at the end of 2018, most of them in low- and middle-income countries. Under the MSD agreement, more than 80 countries will have increased access to doravirine.
