While a lot of international attention has been on the devastating effects of fires rampaging through the Amazon rain forest in Brazil, the latest U.S. National Aeronautics Space Administration- NASA-satellite images, show that forest fires in central Africa appear to burn alarmingly like a red chain from Gabon to Angola similar to the blazes in Brazil's Amazon that sparked global outcry. At the G7 summit this week, French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted about the fires in Central Africa region, and said nations were examining a similar initiative to the one proposed to combat Brazil's blazes. For more on this, Channel Africa's Khumbelo Munzhelele spoke to Guillaume Lescuyer, A Central African expert at the French Agricultural Research and Development Centre, and he began by asking him about the similarities between the two blazes.
