One year in to the conflict in Yemen, the humanitarian situation is extremely dire and in some areas "near to catastrophic". This according to the United Nation's humanitarian coordinator in the country Johannes van der Klaauw. Yemen has been rocked by political instability for years, but a brutal civil war escalated last March, between forces loyal to the President, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, against Houthi rebels. Elaborating more on the situation Van der Klaauw says four out of five Yemenis are in need of some form of aid including food, clean water, healthcare and shelter. That's Johannes van der Klaauw, United Nation's humanitarian coordinator in Yemen. He was on the line from Sa'ana talking to UN Radio's Tsigue Shiferaw.
