South Africa believes that neutralizing the negative forces in the eastern DRC, will require the optimum utilization of military resources deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula was speaking during a Security Council debate on the Great Lakes region that covered also covered the political concerns in Burundi, Uganda and South Sudan. The SANDF is part of the UN Mission to the DRC's Force Intervention Brigade. Sherwin Bryce-Pease reports.
