ESKOM WAGE DISPUTE 

Eskom said today it had declared a dispute in the central bargaining forum after failing to reach a wage agreement with the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), the National Un-ion of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) and Solidarity. Last month Eskom said its 1.5% wage increase offer — conditional on unions agreeing to a proposed downward variation of worker benefits including overtime pay, travel allowances, and employee transfer costs — is final.
