More than 75% of South Africans pass away without a valid Will in place.
To help combat this statistic, the Law Society of South Africa promotes National Wills week, every year, and participating attorneys offer their Will-drafting services for basic Wills for free.
Wills Week is normally in September, but due to Covid-19 and lockdown, the law society has officially announced that National Wills Week will be from 26 – 30 October this year.
most people know they need a Will, but statistics show that South Africans are notorious procrastinators.
In a recent survey people listed the following as reasons for not getting their Wills in order. 
43% of respondents they just hadn’t gotten round to doing it.
27% said they lacked information
21% felt it would be expensive.
9% of respondents said they didn’t need a will.
