the South African Music Performance Rights Association has launched the SAMPRA Development Fund to create ongoing sustainable support for its members.
The programme has seven key focus areas which are Education & Training, Learnerships, Music Production, Local & International Travel, Sponsorships , Retirement Annuity and Funeral Benefits
The association has partnered with institutions of higher learning and from next year members will be offered opportunities to study at partner institutions to acquire the requisite skills to succeed in their craft as well as in managing themselves as brands and as entrepreneurs.
The Fund will also make funds available to assist artists and small record companies with funding to cover, in part or in full, touring costs for artists performing locally or internationally.
