Welcome to another edition of our financial education feature called Making Cents brought to you by our financially-savvy friends at Ubank.
Just as we do with our physical health where we conduct annual health checks for chronic diseases, we also have to take stock of our financial health. You can do this by accessing and analysing your credit report at least once a year if not on a monthly basis. We have several credible and trusted credit berauxs available that provide you with information on your credit score, the retail accounts you currently have and your payment history. They also inform prospective lenders of your conduct as a credit customer.
There are approximately 30 million South Africans on the various bureaus and yet just over one million ever access their report. But why is it important to access your report? To unpack the importance of accessing and interrogating your credit report and how it can help you protect your financial health, we are joined by financial expert, Craig Gradidge, from Ubank.
You can also join the conversation by sending a Voice Note to 072 360 5392 with any question you may have or advice you may need in relation to your credit report and our financial wellness expert will be glad to assist. You can also tag us on @MetroFMSA using the hashtag #KingsSuite during the show. Ubank is available on Twitter and Facebook @ubankSA, if you’d like to continue the conversation beyond this feature using the #ubankcreditreport.
