Brief Profile of Christo Thurston
I was born in Bloemfontein but spent most of my life in the Vaal
Triangle (Vanderbijlpark) where I started as a teacher. At Riverside
High School in Three Rivers, Vereeniging, I served as head of
department, deputy principal and principal. At this school I won the
national teachers’ award (1 st position) for leadership. In 2014 I moved
to Giyani where I served as a school principal at one of the best
performing independent schools, Khanyisa Education Centre.
Currently I reside in Mahlanyeng (Pretoria) where I am still involved
in the education fraternity, but not school based.
My passions are people, cultures, languages, cooking, social media
and nature.
