SPECIAL GUEST: House DJ, radio host, property investor,
Themba Nkosi, popularly known as Euphonik.
ABOUT THEMBA NKOSI:
Self-described introvert and weird kid, East Rand-born Themba
Nkosi, better known as Euphonik by many of his radio weekend
show listeners, has come a long way from his early days and humble
beginnings.
Influenced by his cousin at the age of 11 to start a music collection,
little did he know what the future had in store for him. “I used to hang
out a lot with my cousin, who used to collect music, so it became
natural for me to follow suit. But he collected a lot of kwaito and what
was then called international, now known as house, which is where I
found my interest.” Having affirmed himself as a stereo-head at
school and home, at age 14 young Nkosi was asked by his friend to
attend his sister’s party and play music from his collection.
It was here that the idea of becoming a disc jockey emerged in his
head and saw him seek knowledge on bettering the skill through
listening to other club DJs of that time, as well as through practicing
in his spare time.
