Good day and a warm welcome to all our listeners. It is time for another exciting episode of Khetha, brought to you by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in partnership with SABC Education. The year, 2016 has been characterized by many transition in the South African educational system, but one of the positive factor is many people acknowledge the value of education and the impact it has in changing the life of people, this can be supported by the late Dr Nelson Mandela quote which says “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The DHET wish to congratulate the 2016 matriculants who passed their examinations and would like to encourage those who have not succeeded to rewrite their examinations or to pursue opportunities in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system. Making the transition from being a learner to a student can be a scary and intimidating change so to help the learners adapt with this new change we are talking about the Transition between Matric and Post-school education/ Life after Matric.
