There was an artist who, having finished an exquisite painting of Christ, invited his friend to see it. The friend admired the painting and congratulated the artist on its beauty, but remarked on one fatal flaw he observed in the painting: “you have painted Jesus knocking on the door but you have forgotten to paint a latch on the door,” to which the artist replied: “if the latch has been on the outside, Jesus would have opened the door and gone in. But the door is locked from the inside. Until the housekeeper opens it, Jesus cannot enter in.
