God Does Not Speak English. Think of what you "hear" as a broadcast signal. We translate to our known languages at the receiver. Sometimes, we have to validate.
We cannot run our lives based on what we think we heard from the Spirit. We must balance with validation from the "water" and the Word.
We don't have to go out of our way to demonstrate to people the truth of the Gospel by invoking supernatural acts. God has prerogative over supernatural interventions.
There are fundamental questions we have to ask about our existence. Is there a Creator? How does He interact with His creation? What has He offered us to be part of His plan? We must explore and be certain of our position on these and more.
The early Church encouraged evaluating what two or three prophets spoke in the Church. The primary authority was not a man.
Maybe. But if we were to do a scientific study, we may not find that all successful people are godly. We may also need to define success.
What consumes our prayer meetings? Prayers for more personal comfort? What would God have us be enthusiastic about bringing to Him in prayer? What did the men and women in Scripture spend time praying for?
Should we be praying for a transformer, a car, government, and so forth? What are the boundaries of divine intervention. Did God rest after creation and leave us to our own devices? This is a contemplation about the balance between being spiritual and being strategic; being prayerful, and being practical.

Some quarters teach that we can move the hand of God with our given citing the example of cornelius. We also wonder whether we can trigger an appearance of the Lord Jesus by persecuting Christians.

One reaction to the call to participate in a flawed system is to fight it. Another is to exclude oneself politely and demonstrate the superiority of a different way of life.
Babylon defeated and enslaved the Jews. The nobles who went through three years of Babylonian teachings were not intimidated. They did not argue with the system. They simply demonstrated superior results.
Drawing from Roman's 8:31-33, we emphasize that the only way we know that God really gave us Jesus Christ from Heaven is that He still releases things from Heaven even today. And nothing can stop us from receiving what is released.

It is an intriguing one because Jacob and his son Joseph who took him there were both Hebrews. Though Jacob got a blessing at the end of his wrestle with the angel, he lost his hip joint. Sometimes in our personal encounters with God, He wants to take something away from us in order to give us something bigger. He wants our agenda to become subservient to His.

We see this to be through as it shows up in flings, promiscuity and one-night stands. Love is not the same as sex.

Is'iyi Nke Ndu is an appellation describing God as the Source of the River of life. The graces we experience a manifestations of Gods person. We receive and respond to them in diverse ways but He is the Source.
Osimiri Atata is an Igbo appellation referring to Almighty God as a river that can never run dry.
The Leyman brothers were so sure that someone would bail them out. History teaches us that we cannot afford to base our confidence on any system of this world.
I think our idea of miracles pale in comparison to God's grand design. I do not think it's God's job simply to keep making us happy.
We find ourselves often trying to do so much and achieving little. I do not think this is what God wants. We need to find a small set of worthy causes to focus our lives on.
