Prog rock! What is it exactly? Well, there is no “exactly.” It’s an ambiguous genre that’s more often defined as “I know it when I hear it.” There are the monsters of prog (Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, ELP, etc.) that help create a progressive rock blueprint. But from there, expect it to go anywhere and everywhere! In 2 hours, with prog rock’s tendency for looooong songs, you can’t do an extensive deep-dive, but we can provide an engaging overview. This is a really cool show, IIDSSM. It’s a great sampling of many different styles, from the fore mentioned godfathers of the style to the bands keeping the genre alive and vibrant (Porcupine Tree, Soen, The Pineapple Thief, etc.). Turn down the lights, close your eyes, TURN IT UP, & get completely lost in the music! And with less breaks than usual, you’ll get less of me! Rock on my brothers & sisters!
