PCB maker Zhen Ding Technology Holding will begin production of BT and ABF substrates at its factories in China in 2022, according to industry sources. Zhen Ding will start small-volume production of BT substrates at its factory in northern China in the third quarter of 2022, with volume production to begin in the following quarter, the sources said. For ABF substrates, Zhen Ding will undertake trial production at its factory in southern China in the fourth quarter of 2022 and begin volume production in 2023, the sources noted. With capital expenditure of NT$14.317 billion (US$513 million) in the first half of 2021, Zhen Ding is developing and expanding production capacity for FPCs (flexible printed circuits), IC substrates, PCBs used in miniLED backlight units, SLPs (substrate-like PCBs) and automotive PCBs, the sources indicated. For PCBs used in miniLED backlight units particularly, Zhen Ding kicked off production in the third quarter of 2021 and expects shipments to fast grow along with increasing adoption of miniLED backlighting, the sources said. Zhen Ding has reported consolidated revenues of NT$15.451 billion for September, increasing 6.41% on month and 33.50% on year, those of NT$41.622 billion for the third quarter of 2021, rising 39.75% on quarter and 29.76% on year, and those of NT$98.581 billion for January-September, growing 29.58% on year.
