The Pan South African Language Board in partnership with the African Language Association of Southern Africa and the University of For Hare are hosting a conference under the theme: Perspective in African Languages for Decoloniality and the Fourth industrial revolution in the 21st century. Interestingly, this conference comes at the back of a constitutional court has given the University of South Africa until the start of their 2023 academic year to change their language policy and include Afrikaans as a medium of instruction in modules that it had previously offered in the language. One wonders in a country like South Africa, how do we find the balance?
