This morning we bring you a special programme marking 31 years since international icon and South Africa’s first democratically elected president, Nelson Mandela was released from the Victor Verster Prison in 1990. The Nelson Mandela Museum is celebrating the historic event today by taking us back to the planning of his release and reflect on his last day at the prison and the whole process of walking him from the gate to where he addresses the nation.
