Tributes have been pouring since the passing of the former Deputy Secretary-General of the African National Congress, Yasmin "Jessie" Duarte. She passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 68 (yesterday). She served as Deputy Secretary-General of the African National Congress for 12 years until she took medical leave in November 2021. Oppositional leaders have described her as a force in South African politics. Luthuli House will remember the former diplomat and public servant as the pillar of strength and a dedicated cadre of the movement.
