Lester Paldy is a former Marine officer and member of U.S. nuclear weapon negotiating delegations in Geneva and at the UN. His work on nuclear weapons issues includes dealing with the threat posed by terrorists attempting to build and use an improvised nuclear device, as well as working on the multilateral agreement signed with Iran. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a consultant for several federal agencies. He is currently a distinguished professor at Stony Brook University. An avid poet, he is also the author of the books "Transits" and "Wildflowers at Babi Yar".
