Do you resolve or avoid conflict?

Avoiding conflict may be easier to maintain relationships, but it can slowly destroy them. Somebody once said that conflict is not like wine – it doesn’t get better with age. Dealing with conflict can be stressful, and that’s normal. Attacking a problem doesn’t mean you are attacking the other person. It just means that you have to focus on the issue or conflict itself and resolve it instead of blaming the other person or making wrong assumptions.

Avoiding conflict is not the solution; it is the beginning of a lasting rift in every relationship.

In this podcast, Charmaine Hammond and I will discuss why conflict exists and how to resolve it. Charmaine has a wonderful 5-step model in resolving conflicts that I’m sure will help you and your relationships be better.

What you'll Learn on Episode 104:

  • Why is it wrong to avoid conflict?
  • How to focus on the behavior or the problem and not the person
  • How to improve your mindset towards conflict
  • What is the correct behavior when dealing with conflict?

Michelle Kuei is no slouch when it comes to overcoming life’s most significant challenges. Standing approximately 4 feet tall, she has climbed Machu Pichu even if others discouraged her. She’d instead choose to die trying than go back on her choices. Overcoming life’s obstacles has been part of her daily life ever since she had her accident when she was 11.

In this podcast, Michelle wanted to impart how discipline and courage to overcome life’s obstacles helped her do more when others thought she couldn’t. We will discuss the insignificance of listening to that small negative voice inside your head and turn it into courage. When you combine that courage with discipline, nothing is impossible for you! By the end of this podcast, you’ll learn that being stumped with one big obstacle in your life doesn’t mean it’s the end; it’s just the beginning of your adventure.

Westfalia by Blake Hill is a story about acceptance and how to deal with emotional struggles. A life full of resentment and unforgiveness weighs on the shoulder of the bearer and not the one who caused the feelings in the first place. There are points in our life when we have to pass through a dark tunnel to see the light at the end. Losing something or someone you have had for a long time will trigger a feeling of grief, anger, and depression. Going through the five stages of grief-- denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, is necessary to have hope. There will always be an inner voice inside us that will tell us what to do in uncertain situations. If we listen and meditate, the same voice will also help us get through the darkest times. In the end, the decision lies with us. We can be miserable or choose to forgive. But if we choose the latter, many benefits await us, and we can live a life filled with love again.

Blake Hill is the author of Westfalia and was also involved in the entertainment industry. His book was launched in May 2021 and talked about self-discovery and how acceptance and forgiveness can bring significant changes in your surroundings. His experiences and discovery from childhood to adulthood led him to dive deeper into himself and his emotions to better understand the things around him and accept them. He loves a strong cup of coffee and is a chatterbox. He believes that listening to your inner voice can help you live your best life.

What you'll Learn on Episode 101 - A Beacon Of Light On The Hero's Journey

Why should you listen to your inner voice?

How does your story affect your future?

Why are acceptance and forgiveness necessary?

How do you continue living your best life even if unexpected circumstances happen?

EMPRESS’s pursuit of dreams is an inspirational journey for all of us. She redefined her definition of success by breaking out of the boundaries that this rigged system creates for us. We become slaves of the provided script from a very early age and blindly follow the predefined set of rules until the realization hits us uncertain times. The escape from this script is the dreams, and that too is suppressed as we grow; it’s like clipping the wings long before the evolution of the thought to fly. Some of us manage to get out of this system on our own, and some of us need outside help to do so, but the journey begins after that, and the journey is arduous. One can complete this journey through perseverance, courage, commitment, passion, sacrifice, and unshaken will. And it’s not a happy ending at the end; it can be a beginning of a new journey at the end of the tunnel.

Empress started her career as a ballet dancer from a very young age, and she became an actor and singer within no time. She saw heights of success in all three careers through the inbuilt quality of perseverance and courage. She saw those dreams and turned them into reality through constant hard work and commitment.

The Steadfast Soldier is the story of all of us. Hans Christian Andersen relates the story of a tin soldier who goes through continuous and breathtaking diffic. From that moment, he dreams of a beautiful dancer, which seems impossible. He experienced falling from the most unexpected places; feels loneliness despite all the people around him; gets help from the unknown factors; escapes the leap of death over and again; at times, it seems there is no way out of this situation but his unshaken will to make his dream a reality brought him to the love of his life – for a moment though. Still, he did it with courage and dignity.

Our lives and journeys are relatable to the tin soldier; it’s a character that portrays the harsh realities of life. We are in a constant struggle to be what we’ve dreamed for ourselves. The dream is usually vague with no direction to work on, but the journey towards the goals teaches the lessons and guides us to move forward. The farther we walk, the more clear becomes the dreams. The hurdles are just part of the journey. We have to face them but can’t run from them.

Whiskey and yoga – two stories of the spirit – relate a lot to the struggle we put in finding the purpose in life. A life without a purpose seems empty, shallow, and dimensionless. And somehow, a purposeless and dimensionless life isn’t our fault. Our script is written under our surroundings, atmosphere, and the rigged educational system. We have to break out of this pre-decided path for a meaningful and purposeful life. It’s all in our heads; we just have to decide what we want to be and where we want to be. Nobody in the world can hold us back as much as our negative and fearful thoughts. We talk about what we are about; our self-talks convince us to either be the king of our world or be the servant of someone else’s world. In pursuing happiness, we sometimes mistake it for money and popularity. Still, in reality, materialistic things have no connection to joy and fulfillment.

Davis Richards is the author of Whiskey and Yoga and also a marine. His first book was the bestseller in 2017; through his own experience, he teaches people to attain a purposefully, happy,y and fulfilled life. His exposure to Eastern and Western Philosophy enlightened him to purpose in life. It led him to find the right path towards attaining a purposeful, fulfilled, and happy life. He inspires others through his life-tested experience through the books he writes. His firm belief in collective growth has set him on the road to positively impact the lives of people in need.

What You’ll Learn on Episode 097 – Whisky and Yoga

  • What do whiskey and yoga have to do with purpose?
  • How can we set our purpose statement by breaking out of the orthodox script?
  • What factors influence our Script?
  • How do our minds convince us to be where we are and where we can be?
  • What are the elements of happiness?
  • What ignites the fire within us to be the captain of our ship?

People fail to run a company for they are not experienced enough; they are not hardened enough in the kiln of time; they are not wise enough. All these attributes can be learned – and for a leader of a company, these are the must-have attributes. We've already discussed the leadership qualities in the 91st episode on "Speak the Language of the Leaders." This episode on TRUE Success Podcast is focused on "How to Build and Run a Company."

The biggest asset is not its financial figures; it's all about the people – you inspire the people, they'll push your company to the top charts. A company is all about serving its customers; its policies must be customer-oriented.

Making a decision and sticking to it is laborious than it's anticipated by most. If you feel that your decision can impact growth and productivity, stick to it. Keep changing the plans and giving up on previous ones causes ambiguity among customers and employees.

And it's okay if the plan goes wrong; there is nothing wrong with failing. If you have faith in your goals and things, go south, develop a better plan by keeping the previous lessons of failure in mind. Every winner must have lost in the past, and he's a winner because he learned from his mistakes and kept grinding until he reached his desired state. "life gives you lemons, make lemonade out of it."

Sleeping and breathing issues are as common as headaches. But the problem is that we either ignore it or cannot detect the symptoms. And what's more alarming is that it can't be easily seen in children, and even if noticed, we are not sure what we can do about it. In today's episode of "Alternative Health Using Myofunctional Therapy" on TRUE Success Podcast, we'll be discussing the symptoms of sleeping and breathing disorder and how we can treat them without medicine through simple therapies.

Our face has many more muscles than one can anticipate; it plays a vital role in breathing and sleeping. Suppose merely, our tongue isn't in the correct position while sleeping. In that case, it can very well block the airway resulting in difficulty breathing and disturbing our sleep all night long. Many people are already on CPAP, and they can permanently get rid of it through myofunctional therapy. This relatively new but tested and effective treatment consists of simple facial exercises.

Then there is ADHD. Its problem is that its symptoms are similar to that of a sleeping disorder. Its detection in children and treating it without medicines is a complex process. Still, parents have to take responsibility for helping their children get rid of it before it's too late. These issues pile up over the years and can cause serious health issues in the future.

Some people ignore that sleep is vital for our body to function correctly. Their sleeping cycle is disturbed that can very much impact any person's productivity – it's like rebooting a computer. If your mind doesn't rest properly, it'll likely effects productivity.

“Leadership” sounds easy, but in reality, it’s considered to be the toughest of all the dispositions a human may possess. There is only one alpha in a wolves’ pack on which survival of the whole pack is dependent; the good news is, we are neither wolves, nor it’s impossible. Anyone can work his way up to attain what it takes to be a leader. As the saying goes, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Actions are the reflections of the will. Leadership is the unshaken will of someone to bear the responsibility of the whole company. It’s not the money, not the policies, not the size of labor one has, but it’s the sheer leadership skills of someone that takes the company to the heights of success. Then, who exactly is a leader, and what does it take to be a leader? In this episode of Speak the Language of Leaders on TRUE Success Podcast, you'll learn it.

Even after success in building and running a company, there is no promise that things will go according to the plan. Maintaining one’s status on top is even more difficult than attaining it. It only depends on your sheer will to be the type of leader you want to be: you can be the mean leader everyone hates, or you can be the inspirational leader that inspires others or merely just a mediocre leader. Nobody is a leader by birth; anyone can learn to be the type of leader he wants to be.

Kirby Ingles – a leadership and transformation coach – hosts “True Success Podcast” and works on helping people live a rich and satisfying life.

Michelle Dickinson – the guest on the show – runs resilient programs on eliminating the mental health stigma by normalizing the mental health conversation in the workplace.

Mental health problems may seem to be on an individual level, but their impacts on a society or a community are deteriorating. It can trigger – if neglected – heinous acts as mass suicide, mass shooting, and even the collapse of civilization as a whole.

Removing this stigma from workplaces is vital for employees’ health and production, and efficiency. It can cost a lot to the organization than the individual.

An individual can’t survive alone, and within a community, he has his impact on it. The mental illness can lead to sending others in depression as well, including his own family and, most importantly, his children. Even more worrying is the fact that there is no one for the children’s help.

One individual cannot improve mental health. The whole society has to stand up for each other. Education and encouraging people to share the stories of their suffering with others can create a rippling effect and attract the whole community's attention. To save our generations to come, this is the right time to start.

In Episode 085 - Leadership Is Half The Equation, you will learn that leadership is like a waterfall, everything flows down, and the people below are viewed as less skilled and not as valuable. While this thinking is still pretty standard in waterfall organizations, it's not compatible with the modern workforce. We must remain fluid, adaptable, agile, and flexible. People switch jobs and roles every two years or less, which means a lot of transition and turbulence, while organizations face challenges that are tall orders and too technical for just one person to defeat.

That's why we need to be flexible in our approaches and shift our leadership styles and strategies as the environment changes. In this episode, I'll show you how to empower your followers, how to foster collaboration and be open to innovative ideas, no matter who proposes them.

The keys to the modern workplace.

  • Showcase a different model of work.
  • How followers improve organizations.
  • How great followers get promoted faster.
  • When good leaders know to step back.

In Episode 083 – Lead With Attitude, you will learn to identify the difference between leading and managing, the best leaders offer rewards and not incentives, and finally, a positive attitude is necessary!

You’ve had that boss who is not the best motivator and does all the work themselves. They give you little responsibility and rarely delegate or empower you. Instead, when you get an opportunity, they micro-manage your projects.

James Owen Roberts is an entrepreneur, podcast host, and international speaker with over 15 years of experience in exercise, diet, and mindset as both a coach and 2x Paralympic athlete. In addition to running James Owen Roberts Coaching, he also serves as a Wheelchair Rugby League Ireland consultant.

James was born to military parents at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (S.H.A.P.E). James’ mother was a NATO civilian for 33 years, and his father was a Master Sgt in the United States Air Force. He grew up on the base until he graduated from SHAPE American High School.

James was born with a congenital disability called femoral dysplasia, also known as Proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD) or Congenital Femoral Deficiency (CFD). This rare, non-hereditary congenital disability affects the pelvis, particularly the hip bone and the proximal femur. The disorder affects James on the left side, with the hip being deformed and the leg shortened. Also, James was born with a floating hip and scoliosis of the spine.

James only truly got involved with disability sport in 2002 at the age of 16 after swimming at age 11. He used the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games as a springboard to my future career as a High-Performance Athlete.

There were many highs and lows along with his 10-year career in high-performance sport. James Owen Roberts quickly rose through the ranks within disability sport, and by 2003, he had already broken into British Swimming’s Development Squad. However, two years later, he was dropped from the program. James went home thinking he would become a regular student. Disability Sport Wales (DSW) performance director, Anthony Hughes, asked James to try his hand at rowing; James accepted and went on to compete at three world championships and finished 5th at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics.

Then another opportunity to represent his country once more; however, it was an unexpected call-up to the World Championships in 2010 being held in Oklahoma.

James says that it is surreal at times reading some of the old press releases, especially from his time at The University of Chester, where he studied for his Postgraduate Certificate in Sociology of Sport Exercise. The difficulty was he had to balance the Postgraduate course with his full-time training in the lead up to London 2012 back at Roehampton University, London, where Great Britan Volleyball was based.

“Not just a state of mind… But a way of life.”

  • James Robert Owens

James was very fortunate to be quite busy after the games, promoting Paralympic sport and talking about his experiences with school children in North Wales. He received an opportunity to speak at a college in London, and then in 2014, he was invited to talk on the Awaken Your Alpha podcast, which is how he ended up here with us today on the TRUE Success podcast.

What makes up a good leader?

A strong character, iron will, an inspirational persona?

We have beaten to death the argument that leaders are made, not born, so is good leadership a craft that can be learned?

Growing up, Kristine always felt different. At an early age, she heard the call to be of service to humanity. For decades, she avoided her true path because she wanted to "fit in" to traditional society. By 2009 she felt depressed, empty, lost, and unsatisfied. Her doctor told her that she would not survive more than 2 years if she didn't make drastic changes. Most of her suffering and struggles were from a single decision 10 years earlier to pursue a career choice.

So she took the first step and took her power back. She left accounting behind and surrendered to her true self and pursued a divinely guided purpose in this life. Kristine's mission was to become a bridge to the source, thereby enabling her to serve others.

Allocating time within nature, praying, and meditating, she was guided to the present. In a moment, she remembered who she was and began a journey of permanent positive change. That decision drove Kristine towards hypnotherapy, spirituality, and her intuitive gifts.

In this episode, you will learn to identify the five ways you can produce more significant and more tremendous success!

It isn't easy to picture a life in which we're not racing against each other. After all, you've been taught since you were little to be the best at sports, academics and that didn't change much in business, so much so that if your neighbor gets a new car or a lawnmower, generally you make a new purchase and up the ante a little. We measure success by comparing ourselves to others. To go beyond your potential and reach your new potential, you have to get beyond the individual effort and start playing a team sport. Yes, you can be an individual success, but you're playing in the shallow end of the pool.

To expand and rise to new levels of potential, you need to join strengths with others. Connect instead of competing. You will be able to combine resources and forces and assist each other to pursue your targets. This will result in new and unique levels of success than if you ever tried alone.

This is expansion. In this episode, I break down five ways you can unlock new potential and unlock incredible benefits.

If you have had a stroke, or love someone who Marcia Moran and her husband have been in your shoes . . . not knowing a thing about strokes, brain injuries, and about how to get better. Marica struggled to find different tactics along the way back to her new normal. Some worked. Others didn't. The problem with brain injuries is that they are all different.

There is good news, though. Some things have similar patterns. So, she wrote about the steps she took when a stroke happened to her in 2014. She didn't think of it as healthcare advocacy at the time. But later, included the 'Take Action' part at the end of every chapter in her book, "Stroke Forward," because these were the highlights of what she did as she sought recovery. Hopefully, this advice will help you or a loved one become an advocate for yourself...

Shelly Yorgesen is the CEO of Executive Networking Events and President of Operation Christmas Magic.

She comes from humble beginnings where she grew up on a farm and now runs network marketing events at castles in Europe to spreading Christmas Magic to those who are less fortunate.

In this episode, we will hear about timeless wisdom handed to her by her parents working on the farm about fixing broken things, building relationships, why it is vital to have a trustworthy spouse behind you because it isn't all roses being married to your business partner, raising kids, and chasing big dreams that started with dirty potatoes.

She says it is one crazy yes at a time and taking each zig and zag because you don't know where the next opportunity may come, like being the water girl and jumping at the drop of a dime to be the MC, which lead to being an executive director and running companies. Shelly does all this by taking a significant risk and doing things upside down. She will share with us that building networks aren't always about building a business but serving well and creating an impact.

In this podcast episode, the key message is that it is time to be fearless and strike out toward your aspirations. Don't let haters or insecurities control the limited time in your life. Instead, think about what you want and make that happen! Emotionally release yourself from the outcome. One critical principle is to begin practicing right away is to let go of the unknown, let go of the fear over you that is crippling your success. Release yourself emotionally from the result as this will reduce your stress and make everything feel more manageable and lighter. Remember, the real failure is not trying. Years ago, at age 26, after being involved in a nearly fatal car accident, Alan Lazaros questioned everything. His father passed away in a car accident at age 28 when he was only 2. So this car accident really shook his snow-globe…

He questioned everything. What if that was it? Did I live a life true to myself? How courageously did I fight for what I believe in? How fiercely did I love? Not liking his answers and filled with regret, he decided to change forever.

Today, Alan’s a Professional Speaker, Peak Performance Business Coach and Consultant, and the Co-host of The Hyper Conscious podcast. Between Speaking, Podcasting, Coaching & Consulting,

Alan has clocked and tracked thousands of hours inspiring, motivating, and educating others on how to master their systems and design a magnificent life on their own terms.

Alan believes that life is about choices. He grew up his entire life hearing stories about his father, and he can tell you from experience that how you die isn’t going to matter. What’s going to matter is how you chose to live.

Between Speaking, Podcasting, & Coaching, Alan has thousands of hours educating people on living their best life. By sharing his stories, adversities, and life experiences, his goal is to help people believe in what’s truly possible.

During this life, we don't perceive the impact we will have. Most of the time, it is revealed after we are gone. Thomas Jefferson may have been President of the United States and authored the Declaration of Independence. Still, he has inspired billions for over 200 years. He probably didn't know it, but that would be his lasting legacy. Our most significant influence will be realized after we have turned to ashes.

Sometimes when something urgent and important disrupts our lives, we lose momentum, and we stopped doing something and forgot to come back to it. This happens a lot with things we started planning for the future, new practices, and habits that were going to serve a purpose. It's not until we stumble across them during cleaning that we realize the potential and dust them off and start again.

O. Henry shows us that loving compassion sometimes makes us act foolishly. But what is foolish for the head may be wise for the heart. But in the last word to the wise of these days let it be said that of all who give gifts these two were the wisest. O. Henry wrote, "The Gift of the Magi" in 1905.

Why it’s important to develop a quality character in your life because I’ve found is that men and women of character are in high demand and when you live with integrity with yourself and develop these virtues opportunities began to present themselves that didn’t exist before.  You can live a rich and satisfying life as long as you choose the higher values and your actions are consistent with those values. Your self-esteem will improve, you will be more positive and optimistic and people will value, respect and trust you as a leader of character.

Everyone has an intrinsic desire to create. Interestingly, everyone has a fundamental longing, which shows up in their daily lives, called entrepreneurship. Most don't recognize it. People express themselves creatively — some through singing, dancing, painting, or writing poetry. Everyone expresses themselves through work.
