"I started this mix thinking it was going to be full tilt trance but after I looked at some of the songs I really wanted to include I noticed that many of could be considered trance inducing, but weren’t really trance. I decided to focus on trance-not-trance songs, intensely rhythmic and easy to lose yourself in, but missing the typical over the top euphoria or edge of more typical trance. I also wanted to include a bunch of early Japanese songs, there’s such a wealth of creative techno and trance adjacent songs from the early 90s that I’m still discovering.
