Commonwealth Bank chief executive Matt Comyn says some of the attacks on Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe are "extreme, unwarranted and unedifying".The Commonwealth Bank has revealed a huge half year profit of $5.2 billion, up ten percent.But provisions for loan impairment expenses are up by $586 million as CBA braces for pressures from higher interest rates, growing mortgage repayments, and falling real estate values.Mr Comyn says households are feeling "significant strain", but he remains confident Australia will avoid a recession with a "soft economic landing"
