In many ways the Apocrypha has gained popularity as it purports to provide hidden knowledge. We will look to see if that hidden knowledge agrees with what we know from scripture. We know that in John 1:1 God is His word, so we must fimd agreement. We beleive that we create human pecking orders that do not reflect thw divine order of God. As believers we are called many things, but among them we are, "the called out ones." It is by the sharing of the word of God that we were called and it is by that same word we are edified as believers. God has commissioned a work and it begins with Christ. But that isn't the end. We are all fellow workers and labourers to see that this building is built. It is a body, a church an ekklesia of men. We do this in various ways. We see Paul explaining this work, but also noting the position of Apostles in the work. Let us be diligent to do the work of God with whatever gift He has given us. Today we will examine the leadership behind the work of Royal Priests in the New Testament. We will see how Christ was exemplifying the New Temple as God With Us, Emmanuel. Here men were finding the healing and forgiveness they had found through sacrifices and offerings to the Priest. But now, in Christ's day, men could not find healing or forgiveness at the temple even when they laid there for days on end. The impotence of the temple came because the worship of God, the actual Levitical administration was not being kept. God's power would not come through a Babylonian Synagogue, a man appointed Sadducee or a Pharisees of Mysticism. God would not be counterfeit. So Jesus became that temple, and now we are re temple that He dwells in to serve humanity. It is a leadership that must always put the care of God's people first. When we choose to embrace the divine call of God, we as believers becoming the bride of Christ must understand the implications. It's more than just a calling, but a call to leave and cleave to your new identity and purpose in Christ. Not everyone, especially your family, friends, community, culture and society may understand. The mystery of leaving and cleaning to become a whole new one-flesh creature is left unexplained entirely in scripture--so too is your call and purpose in Christ.
