Take Home Messages! 1. When we come to God, we bring our offerings as did the brothers with the money in their sacks, but we often leave with our offering of praise, thanks or sacrifice because our hearts are far from Him even in our prayer. We need to try to be watchful and intentional in prayer so as to bring our offering and leave it at His feet. 2. When the brothers are thrown into prison, they are in a trial and a period of waiting. We too are often in this period of waiting, in the darkness, waiting for the Lord (Joseph) to set us free. Only when He says it's time are we freed. 3. After this trial, the brothers finally repent of the wrong they did to Joseph and so through their repentance are restored to union with the saviour. The same is true of us and only then are we truly able to offer anything to the Lord.
