The daughter of two musicians, Marte Solbakken quit playing music when her family fell apart. She left home as a teenager and didn’t play an instrument until more than a decade later when, holed up in a New York blizzard, she picked up a guitar and penned her first songs.

Realizing that she had reconnected with an essential part of herself, she soon decided to pursue a career in music.

Many songs later, she is releasing her debut EP under the moniker Lilyer with the help of producer Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes, Dum Dum Girls) and mixer Andrew Miller (Kristin Kontrol, Blond Ambition, Dum Dum Girls).

Written during a time of much personal turmoil, these soaring dream pop songs reverberate with the urgency of someone carving out their own path, their own voice.
