Watford full-back James Morris reflected on a positive and productive training camp in Spain during the World Cup-enforced break.
During the week-long tour to Algorfa, the Hornets were put through their paces in preparation for the resumption of the Sky Bet Championship campaign.
After a 1-1 stalemate against Blackpool to conclude the Mediterranean trip, Morris chewed over the constructive experience.
“It was great; I really enjoyed it and it was a great week,” Morris began.
“It was a tough week getting the legs going after a week off, but it felt good to be back out there and, in the end, [when we played Blackpool] it was a good performance.
“We would’ve liked to have won but I thought we played quite well, which was the main thing. It was tough but I felt we dealt with their threat quite well.”
Looking ahead, the 21-year-old - who made his league debut for Watford against Swansea City back in October - is eager to get the season back underway ahead of the fixture against Hull City (Sunday December 11, 3pm KO).
Morris said: “It was good to build up the fitness to get ready for the Championship games coming. It was really enjoyable.
“The boys were great in training, on and off the pitch. Overall, it was a great experience.
“Just like the week in Spain, we need to keep working hard and then hopefully we will be in a good position and the best condition when the match comes.”
