Keinan Davis is keen to see the Hornets build on tonight’s 3-0 victory over Birmingham City by taking a run of form into the international break.

The 25-year-old, who scored the second of the night, felt Watford owed a positive performance to the supporters after a disappointing showing against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

“We got the victory that we set out for,” said Davis. “We didn’t play our best football, but we got the win so that’s all that matters.

“We knew the performance on Saturday was nowhere near good enough, especially for the fans that came and supported us, and we knew we had to give them three points today.

“We knew we had to put in a shift and keep pressing relentlessly for the whole 90 minutes and that’s what we managed to do.”

Having not scored since October, Davis was relieved to finally net his fifth of the season, but quickly turned his attention to following up tonight’s win with another positive result against Wigan on Saturday (March 18, 3pm KO).

“I was trying to get it on my left foot, waiting for the right time and then hit the target, and that’s what I managed to do,” he said.

“Playing at home we feel comfortable with the fans and we want to carry this on into the international break and come out the other side with two wins.”
