Following the conclusion of a two-week international break, football returns as Watford travel to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town this Saturday lunchtime (April 1, 12.30pm KO).

Watford are looking to complete their first league double over Luton since the 1986/87 top-flight campaign.

The Hatters have won just one of their last 12 league games against Watford (D7 L4).

Watford have only failed to score in one of their last seven Football League games against Luton, while they’ve scored 13 goals in the other six games in that run.

Three of the last five Football League fixtures between Luton and Watford have seen a player sent off - Gabriel Osho for the Hatters in the reverse fixture this season, and Kiko Femenía and Ashley Young for the Hornets in April 2021 and January 2006.

Luton are aiming to win three successive home league games without conceding for the first time since December 2018 as a League One side, previously doing so in the second-tier in April 1982.

Watford have lost only two of their last nine league games, five of which have been drawn. No side has more draws in the Championship this season than the Hornets (13, which is level with Luton, Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic).

Two of Watford’s four goals under Chris Wilder in the Championship have been scored by Keinan Davis, who could score in three successive English league games for the first time against Luton.

Carlton Morris leads the way for goals within the Luton ranks, with 16 in the Championship this campaign. The striker has also had the most shots on target (33) and efforts off target (29), joint with Elijah Adebayo, and the most assists (5).

Centre-half Tom Lockyer has attempted the most passes this season (1,285), also making the most passes in his own half (723), while Adebayo has attempted the most dribbles (111).

Defensively, Lockyer has made the most clearances (161), blocks (28) and interceptions (50) in the Hatters’ squad.
