Watford head into their penultimate fixture of the 2022/23 season on Saturday (April 29, 3pm KO), as they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship.

This is Sunderland’s first home league game against Watford since the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

Watford are unbeaten in their last two league meetings with Sunderland (W1 D1). They last had a longer such run between March 1992 and September 1993 (4).

Amad Diallo leads the way for goals within the Sunderland ranks, with the Manchester United loanee on 12 this campaign. The Ivorian has also had the most shots on target (26), while Patrick Roberts has had the most shots off target (18).

In midfield, Jack Clarke has contributed the most assists (9), while Luke O’Nien has attempted the most passes (1,922). Danny Batth is top for the most passes attempted in his own half (1,398) while Dan Neil has attempted the most passes in the opposition’s half (987).

Defensively, Neil has made the most tackles (97), while Batth has made the most clearances (158) and O’Nien is top for blocks (33) and interceptions (65).
