Watford’s Junior Hornets programme has recently surpassed 3,000 members since the scheme was refreshed back in February 2022.

Junior Hornets is our free supporters group for Watford fans aged 0-15, with exciting benefits including a membership pack upon joining, access to regular events and a website containing quizzes, word searches and many other downloads and activities!

As part of the refresh, Ann Swanson – a key driver in Watford FC becoming ‘The Original Family Club’ in the late 1970s and 1980s – became the new Junior Hornets patron, while the Family Stand was also renamed in her honour.

And - with membership numbers ever-increasing - it was a busy campaign for Junior Hornets members during 2022/23, with plenty of fun events to get involved in, such as:

• Designated Junior Hornets Away Days - featuring discounted match tickets and coach travel to selected away fixtures, competitions, games and prizes - have proven popular, with more planned for the coming season.
• Lucky Junior Hornets members were invited to play a game of mini-golf at Puttshack Watford, where they were surprised by some of their favourite Watford FC players, including Daniel Bachmann and Helen Ward.

• Two Junior Hornets were invited to join the Grounds Staff for the day, assisting our award-winning team pre-match, during half-time and after full-time, during a second-tier fixture against Blackburn Rovers.

• There was an exclusive Christmas party and a Junior Hornets Fun Day held at Watford’s training ground where members got a chance to meet their favourite players.

Junior Hornets members aged between 5-11 will also be able to apply for traditional matchday mascot packages for the 2023/24 season. More information on the 2023/24 mascot package application process will be available in due course.
