As Watford FC’s preparations for the 2022/23 season get underway, the clock continues to tick towards the 100th anniversary of the club’s first match at Vicarage Road, on August 30.

To mark the milestone, 100 years after the Hornets were held to a goalless draw by Millwall with 8,618 in attendance, the club and its supporters have been creating a range of exciting and informative content over the past year, with the commemorative theme set to run throughout the upcoming campaign on the club website, social media and other platforms.

During 2022/23, we’ll be looking through supporters’ greatest memories of the stadium and what it means to those who have attended matches and non-footballing events over the last century. Recounts, pictures and videos will be shared, showcasing some of the most iconic moments to take place at our home.

A Vic 100 book will also be published, alongside an exhibition at the Watford Museum, an online memory bank, stadium signage and more.

As we celebrate 100 years at The Vic, on the pitch the Golden Boys will be tasked with creating more unforgettable memories in the fresh Sky Bet Championship season, with new Head Coach Rob Edwards at the helm.
