The academy question-and-answer series shines a light on some of the best upcoming talent at Watford, quizzing a selection of Young Hornets about their journey in and outside of football.

Next up to take on the questions is Under-18s forward Aaron Benn.

The 17-year-old, who joined in June 2021, is capable of playing on both flanks and through the middle as a technical, direct offensive player.

How would you describe your playing style?

In my game, I have a lot of skill and pace. I like one-on-one situations, especially in those wide areas where I can take on my man. I then try to get the cross in to assist one of my teammates.

Biggest influence?

My mum has certainly had a big effect on my career so far. We have a great relationship, and I can talk to her about anything. She keeps pushing me to be the best and one day that will pay off.

Matchday superstitions?

Rolling, stretching, listening to music in the dressing room and praying to God. If I had to choose a genre of music pre-game, it would be American hip-hop. That’s the main one the guys like in the dressing room!

Favourite football kit?

I'm a big fan of the JVC Arsenal kits from the 80s and 90s. If I had to put a player on the back, I’d add Bukayo Saka.

Favourite pair of boots?

I love the Nike Mercurial Superfly, especially in bright colours.

Favourite footballing memory?

Going on tour in Majorca was a huge highlight. Although I didn’t win in the final of the tournament, I will always remember that feeling, which I’ll take into the next final in order to go that one step further.

Most talented teammate?

I would certainly say keep an eye out on Damani Hunter at Watford. He’s a great player to work alongside as he’s always up for a challenge.

Favourite things to do when not playing football?

I love watching sporting documentaries on football clubs and their past. I like watching different types of movies and chilling listening to music as it allows you to take your mind off things. In terms of TV, the big thing at the moment is Love Island, but I also like Swat, which is an American crime drama.
