This week, we will be joined by Silvina "Silvi" Di Pietro, PhD (she/her). Dr Silvina "Silvi" Dr Pietro is a postdoctoral graduate fellow within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). She graduated from Florida International University (FIU) in March of 2021 with a PhD in environmental chemistry. But her journey to grad school might be a bit different from some people's. Many go straight from undergrad to PhD or from undergrad to masters to PhD but Silvi decided to take a short break before going to grad school and she going to talk about that and what it was like starting grad school after that break.
