Having set the TARDIS in Earth orbit to show Ace the aurora borealis from space, the Seventh Doctor spots a spaceship plummeting out of control. The vessel is shot down by the American Air Defense, but an escape pod manages to eject and land on Earth. The Doctor and Ace locate the pod on the roof of Macy’s department store in New York, and search for its missing occupant.
