WHAT’S NEWS & INTERVIEW Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) began its online admission learner placement process for 2020 Grade 1 and 8 children 18 September.  Spokesperson for the Department of Education, Steve Mabona had stated that, “placement would not be sent to all parents on the same day. The department would process offers systematically based on the order of application options outlined in the admission regulations.” Parents who have submitted the required documents were to expect offers of placement via an SMS from 18 September until 31 October. The first offers of placement would be given to learners who reside close to the school or within the feeder zone, has a sibling at the school, if their previous school is close to the school in the feeder zone or if one of their parents work within the feeder zone of the school.
